Today we are diving into local, open-source AI music generation because Suno has recently updated their policy to restrict downloads and how you can use the music you generate. If you are tired of frontier companies keeping a stranglehold on AI music while training on public data, it is time to move your workflow locally!

MiniMax just dropped their brand new open-source music model, and it is already available natively inside ComfyUI. While it might have a bit of that “AI fuzz” compared to Suno, it is completely free to run on your own hardware without restrictive terms of service. In this video, I walk you through how to use the text-to-music workflow in ComfyUI, demonstrate the prompt enhancement skill using an LLM agent, and run a few live generation tests—including a lo-fi hip-hop track about Reddit hating AI and a weird country/techno-trance hybrid.
