Suno launched Suno MCP on October 28, 2026, an official MCP server that lets you make Suno songs inside Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude Code and Cursor through one address, api.suno.com/mcp, with no API key. It’s an early-access beta on every Suno plan, songs use your normal Suno credits, commercial rights still follow your Suno plan, and downloads from the chat count against your download cap. The Financial Times reported on October 30 that Spotify plans to launch its AI covers and remixes tool in the first quarter of 2027 as a $4 to $5 monthly add-on to Premium, with Universal, Merlin, Kobalt, Believe and TuneCore signed and Sony and Warner still negotiating. Gene Simmons told NewsNation on October 28 that musicians have to learn AI or it will use them, while KISS members Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss took different positions on the band’s Pophouse avatar show planned for Las Vegas in 2028. The first AI Music Creator Spotlight tells the story of Kyoto writer Yusei Yamamoto, who built the AI singer Mariya from a rehearsal recording of his late wife Tamao, and whose second Mariya album, Colors, came out on October 30. On Universal Music Group’s Q3 2026 earnings call, CEO Lucian Grainge said pro-rata streaming payments treat AI slop like the greatest songs in the world and that UMG’s deals with streaming services have to change by the end of 2028. In Munich, the student initiative Munich Music Labs, which ran the Hackatune hackathon at the Technical University of Munich, wants to build a music tech venture lab, as UK music tech funding fell from £183m in 2021 to £68.8m in 2025.
